Main VAT issues faced by the Chemical Industry:

  • Call-off stock: transfer of stock to another Member State so that the (one) customer can maintain a stock for "call-off", i.e. for use and payment when they need them.

Supplies Chain

  • Purchases / Sales in the same Member State.
  • Triangular sales between 2,3,4 Member States.
  • Triangular sales between 2 Member States and a third State.

Role of Intermediary

  • Commission agent: acts on behalf and for the account of the principal.
  • Commissionaire: acts in his own name but by order and for the account of the principal.
